Our coalition is free to join and there is no required time commitment. Our goal is to make engagement as easy and accessible as possible. The only requirement is a one-on-one meeting with a team member to learn about your work and to share information about UNARC.

UNARC is an international coalition created and led by Africans and people of African descent. It addresses the ongoing oppression and killing of black people around the world due to global anti-Blackness and the histories of colonialism and the transatlantic slave trade.

UNARC provides the tools and resources necessary for groups around the world to engage with the United Nations on the issue of systemic racism and police violence against Africans and people of African descent. Its purpose is to use the United Nations systems as a tool to affect real change on-the-ground in communities across the globe.

Human Rights Defenders
Language access is a core value of the coalition. All meetings are conducted in the four languages that most Africans and people of African Descent speak across the globe which is Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English.

Demystifying the UN
The coalition provides a space for mutual learning and support in navigating advocacy at the United Nations, which can often be confusing and inaccessible.

Black Communities
Our work centers the lived experiences of black communities, in particular, victims of police brutality and their families.
